Beginning his musical ascent at just 17, Taye and his late twin brother, Rahmon Akilapa, co-founded the 'Currency Band,' marrying traditional and contemporary sounds. Drawing significant influence from Nigerian music legend Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Taye Currency has consistently demonstrated his dedication to the craft. His debut album, 'Millennium,' released in 2008, marked a significant milestone, showcasing his commitment to evolving Fuji music. Celebrated for his energetic performances and deep lyrical content, Taye's work has dominated streaming platforms, solidifying his legacy.
